Water temps in the upper 60s to low 70s across the lake. Algae died off when the water temps rose above 75 degrees on the surface. Water is fairly clear for the most part with a tint of green.

Rod Size:  #4-#6 Weights

Tippet Size: 3-5X

Dries: Don't Bother

Nymphs: Black Zebra #20, Red Baron , Copper Tiger , Shaft Emerger, Copper Zebra Midge

Streamers: Perch, Damsels

The fish are definitely chasing fry, best to be in the tube if you want to strip. Intermediate and type 2 lines are going to work best as you don't have to be deep, you just have to be in an area free of weeds, which is mainly the McGee and Owens channels.  You can still hang perch under the indicator, but make sure you're giving it the twitch often.  You'll want to fish bright patterns early and this is especially important if it's smokey. Albino Baron's and copper tigers are the early morning patterns of choice. Once the sun gets overhead it's time to switch to plain black zebras and shaft emergers.

Water temps on the surface are nearing 75 degrees by mid day! Water temps on the bottom remain in the upper 60's to just over 70. The fish aren't concentrated 100% in the channel so you don't have to be parked right on it to catch fish. Your flies should be as close to the bottom as possible as long as they're not in any weeds.

There are also a ton of recent plants back in crooked. Mostly 8" cutthroat and some smaller rainbows. I've caught the occasional bigger brown back there too as they're eating the small cutthroat that were just planted!
