Striper fishing has been great over the past week with boils being seen throughout the marina, Yellowbar, Bear Trap, and Serano. First few hours of the morning, anglers have been using top water baits and kastmasters to catch stripers during the boils and switch over to baits like chicken liver, sardines, and nightcrawlers to fish deeper in the afternoons. Hot spots from shore for both stripers and bass have been along the rip rap in front of the boat shop and in the canal by the entrance booth. Bass have also been biting top water baits and plastic rigs along the shoreline and in coves around the lake. Catfish have still been biting on chicken liver, mainly caught out deep in coves and also along the rip rap from shore.
