Anglers have been having excellent luck fishing from shore and along the banks of the lake for multiple species over the past week using a variety of baits. People who have been fishing from shore have had the best luck using lug worms, nightcrawlers, and chicken liver for stripers, bait and wait style mainly off the rip rap in front of the boat shop and along the canal by the entrance booth. Sardines, anchovies, and chicken liver have been working best for Catfish mainly off the swinbeach, the canal, and also in cover through the lake. A few trout have been caught in the marina since the plant on March 26 on worms, powerboat and some smaller spinner baits. Bass have still been biting soft plastics down deeper, drop shots, jigs, or wacky rig senkos have been great ways to work the areas and get bit.
