  • Another good weekend of Night Fishing! Anglers were catching catfish in Shadow Cove and Cloister Cove. The cats are biting on mackerel and chicken livers! Don't miss your chance to bring in a stringer full--We are open tonight and tomorrow until midnight!
  • Come for a special Night Fishing on Sunday the 1st of September, the night before the Monday Labor Day holiday! The lake is open Friday, Saturday AND Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to Midnight for Labor Day weekend. Full size lanterns required after 8:00 p.m. Come enjoy an evening at the lake before it's over!
  • We just stocked another 1,000 lbs. of channel catfish last week bringing the total this season to 8,000 lbs.! Another 1,000 lbs. is coming next week! Your chances are looking good! This year--we even have an additional stocking of catfish coming after night fishing is over.
  • Bass were biting in Half Moon Cove and Sentry Cove being reeled in on nightcrawlers and meal worms.
  • Siesta Cove and Half Moon Cove were hot spots for bluegill this past weekend. The best baits for panfish are nightcrawlers and meal worms.
  • Summer is winding down and the kiddos are back to school. This means long term campsites are available starting September 10th. We have full and partial hookups available and some even have a view of the lake! If you would like to know long term availability or have questions, please call (619) 596-1333.
  • Remember, Lake Jennings is a drinking water reservoir therefore, no body contact is permitted. Some ideas to stay cool on these warm days  is by soaking a bandana and draping it over your neck or forehead. Mist your clothing and wear light colors when you're here.
  • If you love camping, the campground has many fun things for children (and kids at heart) to do! Tetherball, giant Jenga, Horseshoes, and Corn Hole. There is also a covered playground area available with a swing set for the kids. Head to the Pavilion any day for games like ping pong or foosball! Enjoy campfire s'mores with Ranger Rusty Saturday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
  • Plan ahead for your next camping weekend. Give us a call (619) 390-1623 or you can book your reservation on our website at  www.lakejennings.org.
  • Rental boats are always available on a first come, first serve basis. We have motorboats, rowboats, kayaks, and paddle boats for rent. Bring your family and friends for an outing at the lake!
  • Please remember to make sure your trash gets in the proper receptacles when you are here at the lake. Staff just freed a great horned owl this morning that was stuck in fishing line. Please help us help the wildlife by disposing of your fishing line properly.
