  • Stocking: Stocking will be biweekly throughout the season to reach a total of 19,000 lbs. So far 2500 lbs. of trout were stocked the week of November 16th. The next stocking will be the week of November 30th. Another 1500 lbs. will be stocked.
  • What's the catch? The trout season opener was November 20-22 and limits were caught early and frequently! The stock was active and by Friday afternoon were scattered in most of the shallow coves around the lake. Rule of thumb...if you find one, you'll find many. Powerbait and Hook-up baits were luring them in. A 36 lb. catfish was caught in Shadow Cove on Friday night. Cats are biting on mackerel and dip bait. The bass bite is slowing, but a few bites were reported this weekend. Follow the trout stock and you'll likely find the bass! They are biting on drop shot and Senkos.
  • New Lake Hours: Beginning Friday, November 27th the lake will be transitioning to our fall hours, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thank you for keeping night fishing going strong long past Labor Day when we normally move to Fall hours! Stay tuned for more information on New Moon Fishing where we will be open later than normal once a month.
  • As a reminder, there is no fishing off of the boat dock, ramp or boat launch. Please keep yourself and our patrons safe and refrain from fishing in these areas. Thanks!
  • Conditions: This week Helix Water District will start refilling the lake at 20 million gallons per day for the next month. Please be aware of changing shorelines. The current water temperature is 69 degrees. For an updated weather report in Lakeside this weekend, click HERE.
  • Lake Open Thanksgiving Day: Work up an appetite before your feast and create a new family tradition! Take a holiday stroll around the lake or hit the shoreline for some fishing. The lake will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Boat rentals and launches will be available.
  • Toys for Tots: We are excited to collect toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program this year. Many have been impacted financially by the pandemic, so we’re hoping to make this holiday season a little brighter for local families in need. If you’d like to participate, you can drop off a new, unwrapped toy today through Monday, December 14 in the Toys for Tots collection box at the bait shop. Acceptable gifts and toys are any that you would consider appropriate for your own child or relative, as long as it does not contain food or resemble realistic weapons.
  • Campground News: Long term campsites are available through March! We have full and partial hookups available and some even have a view of the lake. If you would like to know long term availability or have questions, please call (619) 596-1333.

  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
