The lake temperature is up to 71 degrees and the water is starting to clear up. The bass are schooling up around the pockets in the coves, meters have been showing large schools of fish all over the lake, mostly in about 10-25 foot of water. Early morning bite has been on top water in the arms near the tules. One of out local fisherman, Rob Langdon, from La Mesa, fishing with his with his two friends in his Bass Tracker boat got 10 bass, 6 of them came from top water down San Carlos arm using Zara Spooks. Moving into deeper water later in the morning, the other 4 came in by drop shot. Justin Hafer, or Santee caught a monster large mouth bass 13 pounds using a crawdad straight out from the boat dock.
