The bass bite has been hit or miss, the fish are certainly here and looking as healthy as ever. It is important to make sure to catch the morning bite or evening bite as the fish slow down in the afternoon. In the morning we are seeing the bass schooling and busting on the abundant shad population in the lake. During this time spoons, smaller crank baits, soft swimbaits/ undressing and lipless crank baits. The top-water bite has also been productive in the AM. We have been seeing some rather large and health fish coming in too. Ranging anywhere from 5-10 pounds and fat! They are mainly being caught deeper off points or under shady areas. Texas rigging has been quite productive cutting through the undergrowth. Make sure to add a bead under your Buller weight to get the full effect and have a change to stick some of these big bass. Good Luck!
