by Murray Reservoir Staff

The fishing has been a bit slower here as of recent due to the weather patterns we have been experiencing over the last week. The fish have been schooling in deeper water around 45-50 feet. Earlier in the morning you can find the bass more shallow while they are feeding on crayfish and stray bait fish. But once the sun comes out in full and the air temperature warms up significantly the fish will immediately move out to deeper water. Anglers have been having success jigging spoons like Kastmasters and alas-baits in the deeper waters int eh afternoon. Along the deep-diving crank baits, jerk baits and flukes. Texas rigging and drop-shot is another way to access those deeper fishing in the afternoon and moving with high visibility soft plastics. Bluegill and crappie fishing has continued to improve as well with the changing temperature with most being caught on crappie shiners of drop-shot Red/ mealworms.
