  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1500 lbs. of trout from Wright's Rainbows this week. We received an extra bonus stock of 100 lbs. from the Department of Fish & Wildlife this week, as well.
  • Free Boat Launch: Do you feel lucky? Launch your boat for FREE on Friday, March 13th!  Personal watercraft, inflatable rafts, sailboats, amphi-cars, and waders are prohibited. Sit-inside kayaks that are at least 10 feet long, not self-bailing and have seats for all persons inside are allowed as well as Zodiac-type inflatables with a discernible bow, wooden transom, and wood deck.
  • Springing Forward! As the days become longer, so do the operating hours at the lake. Beginning Friday, March 13th, the lake will be open 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • What's the catch? With this week's trout stock, we saw limits being pulled by boat from the Hermits Cove buoy line and off of the Cactus Patch shoreline using inflated nightcrawlers. For trout, our rangers recommend using silver or gold/brass rooster tails on cloudy/rainy days and dull or black/olive colored rooster tails on bright, sunny days. Bass were being reeled in from the t-dock on swim bait and shiners. Bluegill have been biting on meal worms in Cloister and Hermits Cove.
  • Conditions: The water temperature is currently 61 degrees. For an up-to-date weather forecast in Lakeside click HERE.
  • Park Host Openings: Lake Jennings has volunteer Park Host positions! Exchange a minimum of 20 hours of labor per week (includes weekends and holidays) for a campsite that includes water and electricity. Park Hosts must have their own RV and be willing to live in the campground. For more information or to apply, please visit  Helix Water District's job site.
  • The days are getting longer and the weather is starting to warm up! Campground reservations are picking up for the spring already. We have some full hook-up sites available beginning mid March. Full hook-up sites include sewer, water, electricity, and start at $44/night. To book your campsite online, click HERE.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and guests! If you have a picture you'd like to share, please email them to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature them in our next lake newsletter or on social media.
