Catfish are biting throughout the lake, but are particularly active near the West Buoy Line. Shrimp, Mackerel, or chicken liver are all doing well.

Largemouth bass can be found near structure and are hitting rattle traps, swimbaits, and assorted dark colored plastics.

Crappie are being caught along the north shore during the pre-dawn hours. Crappie prefer live golden shiners or mini-jigs.

Each month Whopper Contest winners in four categories are awarded a free fishing and boating permit. For information on the contest or fishing conditions, please contact the Ranger Station at (760) 839-4346
