  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 2000 pounds for the opener the week of November 15th. The next stocking will be this week just in time for New Moon Fishing on Saturday! Up to 1500 pounds will be stocked. We will stock bi-weekly for a total of 20,000 lbs. this season! Ten percent of the stock is 3+ pounds. For a complete stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? Reports were that the trout fishing was best by boat this week as they have gone deep. Mini jigs (size 1/32) and powerbait in chartreuse and yellow colors were popular as were black/gold Hook Up Baits. The best time to catch are first thing in the morning and just before sunset. Where you find trout, you'll find bass. Look for the bass to be more active midday when the water temps rise. Topwater lures and spinnerbaits were attracting bites. Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.
  • New Lake Hours: We are implementing our fall hours going forward. Please be advised that the lake hours are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Don't worry! Night fishing will still be offered once a month with the new moon.
  • New Moon Fishing: Don't be sad, night fishing isn't gone forever. New Moon Fishing is back! Once a month, we'll be open until 10:00 p.m. for the duration of trout season. On Saturday, December 4th join us for night fishing, boating, sunset watching, star gazing and more. Lanterns are required after 5:00 p.m.. The entrance gate closes at 8:00 p.m.
  • Toys for Tots: Through Wednesday, December 15th, we are accepting Toys for Tots to make this holiday season a little brighter for local families. If you’d like to participate, you can drop off a new, unwrapped toy in the Toys for Tots collection box at the bait shop. The bait shop has lots of fishing poles appropriate for children that you can donate as well. Acceptable gifts and toys are any that you would consider appropriate for your own child or relative, as long as it does not contain food or resemble realistic weapons.
  • Eagle Report: The eagles are back at Lake Jennings! There are reports of 3 different eagles spotted so far this year, but one in particular is very fond of our lake. You may be able to spot one over the dam or flying in front of the bait shop patio. If not in the air, they'll be perched high in a tree or on a pole. Don't forget to tag us @lakejennings if you get a great photo!
  • Conditions: The current water temperature is 69 degrees. The sun has been rising around 6:30 a.m. each morning and setting around 4:45 p.m. The temperature and dissolved oxygen content are consistent throughout the water column. Perfect for trout! For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • Campground: Fish from the campground shoreline every day of the week! Purchase a lake fishing permit at the campground kiosk beginning at 8:00 a.m. Nightcrawlers, meal/wax worms are available for purchase as well. Anglers may fish from Sentry Cove up to Eagle Point— some of the best fishing holes for bass and trout! Campsites are available for the holiday season. To reserve a campsite, give us a call at (619) 390-1623 or visit lakejennings.org. to reserve online.
