It's been slow on the trout front the last few weeks but those willing to put in the time have been rewarded nicely.

By now it's no secret that the bite has been tough the last month. Down right brutally slow at times but patience and perseverance have paid off for those willing to put in the time. Quality has been there, it's quantity that's the issue. Almost everything we're catching is over 17" with a good portion of those fish over 20". Fish are still spread out as uniform water temps continue around the lake, although there has been some congregation of fish starting in areas where we like to see them. They aren't biting how we like...yet...but now is the time to start thinking about booking your trip for next month and into this autumn as we are all waiting, hoping for this thing to turn around. Cooler weather will help. Looks like a bit of a relief is on the horizon. It's been a hot one the last few weeks and surface water temps are up to the low 70's. Best to hit this fishery early and late in the day right now. It will become more of an all day fishery again in September. Overall, fishing is picking up here and there and the bite could open up soon. Get ahead of it and be the report! Can't catch fish sitting on the couch! Call (760)920-1192 to book your trip!
