Fishing at Castaic is good. The stripers have been biting swimbaits, lugworms, spoons and trolled umbrella rigs. The stripers have been very good quality. The largemouth and smallmouth bass have been biting good on a variety of baits. Trout, catfish and bluegill have been slow. Armen V of San Fernando caught a 36 lb. striper on a homemade swimbait on Wednesday the 17th.

Fishing at Castiac is good if you can find the schools. Bass and stripers are biting spoons and ice jigs in 30 to 50 ft. The bass are also biting small plastics in 15 to 35 ft.
