The Striper bite is still alive and well. The Striped Bass have been biting well on cut bait by the buoy line, Necktie Canyon, and Kong Island. Anglers have been coming back with frequent limits after fishing these locations. The ideal time to fish these areas is 5:45 am - 12:00 pm. Use cut bait at a depth of 40-60 feet. The fresher the bait the better the results! The Largemouth are also doing great off of the shoreline to the right of the main launch ramp and in Coash, Cuttler, Utopia, and Dry Gulch coves.

Nightcrawlers, plastic worms, and Jigs should be your go-to baits to throw out there. Fish at a depth of 10-30 feet between 5:45 am and 11:00 am for the best chance of a bite. The afternoon bite between 6:30 - 8:00 pm is also a great time to target the species. Come on out and catch some!

Fishing for all species seems to be wide open at Castaic Lake. Most Anglers have reported lots of activity across the lake during the weekdays. The weekend bite seems to have slowed a bit due to increased activity of large ski boats, but if you come out in the early morning you can still have around 6 hours of fishing time before it gets too crazy. Largemouth are still biting on nightcrawlers, plastics, crankbaits, and jigs in about 10-20 feet...... Read More

Big Carp were biting well this past week off of the dam on dough baits. The Carp have been biting throughout the day with no specific time being better than another. The Catfish bite has been mediocre with only a few bites. If targeting Catfish, try using cut Mackerel at a depth of 80 feet and below. The Main channel of the Fish Arm is the best chance to secure a bite. Try fishing this area between 11:00 am and...... Read More
