The Wallace family took The Estella out for fishing off of the Channel Islands in very calm morning waters and came across a very large pod of dolphins that swam and played only a few feet from the boat passengers. Once anchored, the morning catch was heavy on Whitefish. Collectively, the family pulled in approximately 10 in the first 30 minutes. The boat moved into deeper waters and the catches started to vary between whitefish, blue bass, and rockfish. Another fisherman even caught a sheephead. The boat started to return to Oxnard around 2:30 pm and the family collectively caught about 30 fish all in all. The return back to the mainland was windy with large waves.
