Welcome fishermen to Beautiful Cachuma Lake. Here is this week's Fishing Report! Our 23rd annual Fishing Derby is THIS WEEKEND!!!! Our lake is stocked with beautiful Rainbow Trout from Mt. Lassan. They range in size from 2 lbs to over 9 lbs, being caught off-shore with Night Crawlers, Panther Martin Gold and Black, and on the lake trolling with smaller Rapalas/Flicker Shads. Solid colors are recommended. Due to warm water temps, trout are near the surface (2-10 ft.). Bass are starting to spawn. Large and small mouth bass are catching along most banks near brush/reeds Medium to large white and black Crappie are still being caught daily, especially trolling along the mountain ridge to the right off Cachuma Bay. They have also been coming up along the reeds right off-shore. On average the are between 1 and 2.5 pounds! With our current rains, the lake level has risen! We are jsut over 40% of capacity with about 130 ft. of water at Bradbury Dam. Visit our marina and talk with our friendly and knowleadgeable staff. Sam, Jake, Chris Nick and Caleb are always on hand to give you the latest fishing information! We look forward to seeing you!!
