Stripers have been boiling out around Chumash Island, Serrano, and Yellowbar the first few hours throughout the morning over the past couple weeks. Many anglers are having luck with top water baits, spoons and fluke-type baits in the boils. Trolling has also been working out very well through the day for stripers around the island using deep diving jerk baits, heavy Kastmasters or even lead heads with various trailers. Bass have also been biting pretty well along the shorelines and rocky walls around the lake on soft plastics baits such as flukes or senkos and even some top water bites in the mornings. Multiple trout have been pulled out from the channel up front and throughout the marina on various baits such as powerbait, nightcrawler, little spoons and spinners as well.
