Throughout the past week, people have been catching a lot of catfish around the lake, mainly down deep in coves and along sandy banks on sardines, chicken liver, and nightcrawlers. Anglers have also been catching stripers on sardines and lugworms along the rip rap in front of the boat shop and off of the points past the swim beach, typically caught within the first few hours of the morning or throughout the day in deeper water. Largemouth and Smallmouth bass are still biting from 10-30ft deep on various soft plastic rigs like drop shots or craw style baits and even some deeper diving crankbaits and jerkbaits as well. Umbrella rigs have also been successful searching for these deeper bass, working different water columns at different retrieves to get a bite.
