Lake Isabella held at 64 percent of its storage capacity this week, with good action reported across multiple species. Bass are being caught on jerkbaits, chatterbaits, Senkos, jigs, crankbaits, and swimbaits around trees and stickups, with the South Fork producing some of the better fish. Cope’s pro staffer Rusty Brown landed an 11 1/2-pound largemouth this week. The crappie bite remains solid around Camp 9, the cages, and South Fork brush on live shiners, 2-inch Keitech Easy Shiners, and white and chartreuse minijigs. Trout action has been steady since last week’s CDFW plant, with anglers finding success on trout jigs, Powerbait, spinners, nightcrawlers, Flicker Shad, and Needlefish. The catfish bite also improved, with quality whiskerfish being caught on SSS Dip Bait and cut baits.
