Trout were hitting power bait ( especially lemon twist, orange and
chartreuse) night crawlers, jigs and lures with anglers using 3 to 4
feet leaders. Bite is best before 10am and after 2pm. Hot spots included
the eastern shore of lake 3 and the northern and eastern shores of lake
2, especially near the inlets. Bass were hitting drop shot and senkos on
both lakes with anglers reporting bass to 3 pounds. Hot spots for bass
include the northern shore of lake 3 and the southeastern shore of lake
2 near the wall. Bluegill were hitting meal worms on the western shore
of lake 3 and the western shore of lake 2 with anglers reporting
bluegill to one pound.


Catches of the Week: Mark Harwell of Victorville got a nice Birthday
present when he caught his 9 lbs 2 ozs rainbow on a gold Kastmaster on
the eastern shore of lake 2 near the inlets. Hesperia angler and twelve
year old, Preston Rodriguez used a night crawler to catch his 5 lbs 2
ozs rainbow on the eastern shore of lake 2 Jim Gilbert of Corona scored
a 3 kbs 14 ozs trout on an orange power bait and night crawler combo
while fishing the pump house of lake 3. Jordan Lyttle of Rialto caught
his 4 lbs 6 ozs on the eastern logged shore of lake 3.


The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round.

Most of the anglers who beat the heat got out on the lakes early and caught limits. Best bite is before 10am and after 1pm. Power bait ( especially orange, sherbet, salmon peach and rainbow), night crawlers, jigs and lures all produced limits.
