Overall the bait bite has slowed down a bit for people using sardines and lug/blood worms, but anglers are still managing decent numbers with anywhere from 2-5 fish a person. The bass bite remains steady with a lot of smaller bass being caught, but with a nice 5 lbr or two in the mix. The bass have started to boil first thing in the morning and later-on in the afternoon. While nightcrawlers have still been working, plastic worms/ shad imitation baits and some reaction baits (including top water) have been producing better for some. The stripers have been seen boiling first thing in the morning as well, sometimes mixed in with the bass boils. Anyone that has a dip net and can scoop up some live shad are having days where they limit out. Lately the shad have been showing up more so in the afternoon in thick bait balls. The bluegill and crappie bite remain good for those who have been targeting them. The catfish are starting to appear as well. Bring lots of water and sunscreen because it has been a hot one out here!

The Striper bite is still alive and well. The Striped Bass have been biting well on cut bait by the buoy line, Necktie Canyon, and Kong Island. Anglers have been coming back with frequent limits after fishing these locations. The ideal time to fish these areas is 5:45 am - 12:00 pm. Use cut bait at a depth of 40-60 feet. The fresher the bait the better the results! The Largemouth are also doing great off of the shoreline to...... Read More
