Stripers have been boiling off and on this past week. If you are able to get out during the week and avoid the crowds, you are able to get on some decent top water fishing. Lately the boils have been more of an afternoon kind of deal and it seems like the less boats chasing them down, the better chances you have at hooking up on some fish. Anglers are still producing some stripers on cut bait as well down deep, mainly sardines and lug worms. The largemouth and smallmouth have been boiling first thing in the morning and later in the evening, with smaller sized baits doing the trick. The bait the fish are feeding on are small, so anglers have been down sizing their baits and it has been working best. During the day, shad colored plastics on the dropshot and Ned rig have been working as well. The catfish bite has also picked up, with people reporting catches coming off stink baits and garlic nightcrawlers. The bluegill and crappie bite still has been doing good and some anglers have been able to produce limits as of late. The trout are still prevalent but are getting tougher to catch. Most trout have been caught on garlic or bright colored Power-baits and nightcrawlers.

They’ve been mainly boiling in the coves and have been a little finicky. Finesse baits and...... Read More
