Anglers Are Catching a Varierty of Species

Despite the colder weather, anglers are still coming across a variety of species around the lake. People have been using sardines and lugworms from shore to catch stripers along the rip rap and off the points past the swim beach. Trolling has also been working well throughout the lake to come across stripers off points or around Chumash Island. Lots of Catfish have been caught this past week on various cut baits like sardines, anchovies or chicken liver, mostly down deep within the coves of the lake but also some luck in the front canal from shore as well. Trout are still biting in the marina and along the rip rap in front of the boat shop mostly on micetails or nightcrawlers and garlic powerbaits during the colder conditions. The Largemouth and Smallmouth are being caught up to 20ft on various soft plastics, crankbaits and jerkbaits in the morning.
Lake hours are still from 7am-5pm.

Boat Rentals go from opening until 1pm and are due back to the docks no later than 3pm. Due to ice on the docks in the morning, be prepared for small delay as we work to make it safe to walk on, we apologize in advance and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Private watercrafts can launch until 2pm and must be off the water no later than 4pm.
DFG schedules can be found at wildlife.ca.gov for trout plants. **They do not inform us ahead of time but we will post as soon as we see them**
We are also expecting rain/snow showers in the area on Thursday so make sure to check weather and road conditions before traveling to be prepared and safe!

Fishing Has Been Good
