Stripers are more active in the marina and throughout the lake around Chumash Island, Spanish Point and Yellowbar areas over the past week or so with the weather warming up. Sardines, mackerel, achieves and lug worms have been working very well along the rip rap in front of the boat shop, the points just past the swim beach and the canal by the entrance booth as well. Some anglers have had luck trolling the lake with deeper diving jerkabits, umbrella rigs and heavy kastmasters to fish different water column. Bass are picking up biting different reaction baits like smaller crank baits, paddle tail swim baits, flukes, senkos and roboworms over the past couple of weeks typically caught closer to the shorelines around the lake. Coves are always great areas to fish for bass and down deep for catfish throughout the day.
