Hart Park Lake Fish Report for 9-24-2021
Anglers reported catching plenty of bass and bluegill
Hart Park Lake - Bakersfield, CA (Kern County)
by Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Fishing was good at Hart Park, and anglers reported catching plenty of bass and bluegill. Bass anglers found biters up top and deep in the weeds. Whopper Ploppers and poppers scored bites for anglers who threw the baits early or late in the day. Otherwise, most of the action came from anglers punching the weed mats for bites. Punching setups rigged with heavy weights and weedless plastics have been effective for getting deep into the weed mats where the bass are hiding. Talk with the guys at the shop and they can help get you rigged for punching. The bluegill bite has been excellent with anglers doing well using redworms, waxworms, and mealworms, and catfishing has been fair with a few small fish eating nightcrawlers and chicken liver.
