The trout bite is still excellent

The trout bite is still excellent both from the shore and on the troll. The water temps and dissolved oxygen levels are prime throughout the entire lake, so it doesn’t make a lot of difference if you’re at Juniper Point, the dam, or somewhere in between. Shoreline anglers are having good luck on just about any floating bait on a 2 foot leader. The trick is to not cast too far, the fish are hugging the bank. Around sunrise and sunset they’re even chasing down spinners and mini jigs.
If you’re trolling, keep in mind the boat ramp has changed it’s hours for November. The West Ramp is the only one still operating, and they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, open from 8am to 12pm Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and open from 7am to 3pm on the weekends. All hours are subject to weather conditions.
Night crawlers, spoons, and small plugs such as Rapalas and Flicker Shads have all been very productive if kept in the top 12 feet or so of the water column.
