The Firefighter fishing derby was held this past Saturday and the fishing was excellent. There were six trout caught that weighed over 10 pounds and multiple fish from 5 to 9-pounds taken that day. The number one tagged trout that was the $1000 fish was caught on Saturday afternoon, but unfortunately it was after the derby. Tag number 2 was caught during the event and that fish became the $1000 Grand Prize since it was the lowest tag number caught during the event. The trout fishing was solid after the event with Lightening and Rainbow Trout over 5-pounds coming out regularly out of both lakes with minijigs, Powerbait, pinched crawlers and spinners.
