Water from the North shore of Lake Hemet was sampled earlier this month during a regular end of season testing. The results we received today determined that water in that area of the lake is considered to be at a danger level for algae. While it is unlikely to be affecting the entire lake, in response to this you will see signs near the lake, on buildings and in common areas, warning guests not to touch or enter the water and to keep all pets from touching or drinking the water.

Catch and release fishing is still permitted during this time but there will be a temporary pause on all kayak rentals and personal kayak launches.

Boats may be rented or launched for the purpose of touring the lake and guests may engage in catch and release fishing.

Our first trout plant has also been postponed and will not be taking place in early November as originally planned.

The water is scheduled to be retested soon, and with air and water temperatures dropping, we have reason to be optimistic that this pause in regular fishing and water access will be a short-term event.

Water quality and the safety of our guests are always a top priority for us.

We look forward to updating you when fishing access resumes and trout season officially launches here at Lake Hemet.
