All fishing must be performed from a vessel. No fishing is allowed from the shoreline for the fishing derby.

Fishing Derby Schedule of Events

Up to $1,000 for Tagged Fish

Win up to $1,000 for catching a tagged fish! The City of Lake Elsinore has tagged 3 fish (1 – Bass, 1 – Catfish and 1 – Wiper). The tagged fish must be caught during the Fishing Derby and turned in at the Official Weigh Station. Tagged fish pay a minimum of $500 or as much as $1,000!

Opt-In for Additional Side Pots

Win additional prizes by joining the Side Pots. Side Pots are separated into five fish categories: Bass, Carp, Crappie, Catfish, and Wiper. Additional fees apply for joining the Side Pots. Side ​pots are for each fish species. $10 entry per team for each ​fish species side pot.

Teams can join all five side pots.

100% of the species side pot goes to ​the largest fish caught in that species (by weight). If no ​fish is caught in that species’ side pot, the money for ​that side pot will be rolled into the main tournament prize.
