Mornings, evenings, and nighttime have been the only sane times to fish the aqueduct. High temps put a damper on the bite and reports from aqueduct anglers. Catfish remained the best bet with plenty of good-sized whisker fish being hauled in late in the night. Chicken liver, dip bait, and cut baits all produced well. Striped bass ate cut baits and jumbo live minnows during the coolest parts of the day. Largemouth took weightless Senkos and finesse baits near outtake grates. Poppers and Whopper Ploppers worked for bass in the mornings when cast parallel to shore.
