Copes overnight was a great trip with our 20 anglers. Sporty weather on the way up to the fishing grounds smoothed out for our morning start at gray light. Shallow water ling bite was immediate, so Captain Walker stuck through it to land 28 lings for our anglers, a handful of shorts that were released (and another handful of NOT shorts that released themselves lol) as well as a variety of healthy nearshore species. Big starrys and China rockfish, some sizable olives, treefish, chunky blues, gophers and others made their way to the bags in between lings, and then we made the boat move to deeper drops to mop up the boat limit of reds and some nice sized Boccaccio.
