Water conditions have been changing rapidly lately which has been moving the trout around a bit. Slip bobbers are a great way to cover the water column and find their current depth. 10 feet is a good starting point, but going deeper, or more likey shallower, may be necessary. Hang out between the west public launch ramp and the dam whether fishing from shore or a boat.
Leadcore trolling between one and three colors is another great way to get them from on the water. Especially in the mouths of the bays.
Bass are hungry as ever. Fishing weedless presentations around heavy cover is your best bet during the day. Swim jigs are a favorite, but Texas rigs and other finesse techniques are great options, too. In the early mornings and late evenings, topwater is the way to go.
There's still plenty of time to catch a giant catfish this summer, too. Cut baits like mackerel and shrimp a couple of feet off the bottom on a Santee Cooper rig is the best method to find the big ones.
