Fishing was good at Castaic, with most anglers focused on the boils. Striped bass boiled throughout the day near Center Point and the West Ramp, and anglers had to be quick and position their boats away from the boils to get hooked up. Espetits, Gunfish, and other smaller-profile walking baits worked well for two- to eight-pound stripers. Closer to shore, largemouth and smallmouth bass also chased bait to the surface, with poppers and walking baits producing until about 9 a.m. After that, most anglers switched to small finesse presentations with decent results. Catfish were readily available for bait anglers fishing deeper coves with nightcrawlers, chicken liver, and cut baits.

California Aqueduct: Reports indicated increased angling in the southern aqueduct
Castaic Lake: Fishing was decent at Castaic, with all species readily available
Pyramid Lake, CA: The lake remained at 93 percent of its storage capacity, and water clarity was poor
Lake Isabella: Fishing remains very good throughout the lake
Kern River: Anglers are beginning to see more native trout in the mix compared to holdovers
Lake Kaweah: Kaweah remained steady at 14 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing was fair
Lake Success: The lake dropped to 22 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing remained decent
River Walk Lakes: The bass bite at both lakes has been fair to good
Ming Lake: At Ming Lake, the bass flip bite remains productive
Buena Vista Lakes: Largemouth anglers worked their baits close to the cattails using flipping and pitching techniques
