Good afternoon everyone! I am putting out a call to action for those of you interested in stopping the potential closure of Fishing off of Carpinteria. The fish and game commission just released their meeting process and protocol coming up in October. It’s pretty awful. They areseverly limiting public comment and want everyone to submit written comments by September 30. 
If folks could send an email that is as simple as please deny petition 2023-29MPA and save Fishing off Carpinteria. You could also say you support the CDFW recommendation for a non-regulatory action. 
Let them know you are a resident of Carp or nearby, and you or a family member, etc., utilize this area. It is meaningful for some reason and science does not support the addition of a new MPA.
