Fontana resident, Kevin Hixson, Jr., 9, has the reputation as a respected angler among fishermen at a very young age. Last Sunday, February 28th, Kevin accompanied his father, Kevin Hixson, Sr. to Glen Helen Regional Park for a sunny day of fishing. Using a yellow Powerbait, the younger Hixson caught a 3 lb., 2 oz. rainbow trout at Glen Helen's large lake.

For the day, this was a pretty good catch; however, last year Kevin and his father were able to put a much larger meal on their table. During a fishing expedition to Glen Helen last year, Kevin Jr. caught a 9 lb. trout; while his dad reeled in a 19 pounder. Cucamonga-Guasti, Glen Helen, Prado, Yucaipa, and Mojave Narrows lakes will be receiving trophy sized fish Thursday, March 4th from Mt.Lassen.
