Lake Elsinore wiper bite goes off
Fat wipers are busting up on the shad at Lake Elsinore, reports longtime Elsinore observer and outdoor writer George Kramer. "Mostly you have to watch for the grebes (the westerns) that move into the shallows at the north end after about 3 p.m.," he said. "There is a brief flurry, some hook-ups and break-offs, and most of the fish are keepers (18-inch minimum). Spoons and Rat-L-Traps are working best."
