Rancho Jurupa - Riverside, CA
Lake Information
| Fish Species: | Channel Catfish, Rainbow Trout |
Rancho Jurupa Park in Riverside, CA, is a highly accessible public fishing destination known for its seasonal trout and catfish stockings. Managed by the Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District, the park’s two lakes are stocked with rainbow trout in the cooler months and channel catfish during the summer, providing reliable action throughout the year.
Trout are stocked from November through March and are typically caught on PowerBait, nightcrawlers, and small spoons or spinners. Most productive fishing occurs near shorelines with gradual drop-offs or close to stocking points. Catfish take over in the warmer months and are best targeted in the evenings using cut mackerel, chicken liver, or commercial stink baits near submerged cover.
Resident bluegill and largemouth bass offer year-round angling opportunities. Bluegill are easily caught in shallow, warm water with worms or mealworms. Bass can be targeted in spring and fall with plastic worms, jigs, and crankbaits. While not a trophy fishery, Rancho Jurupa supports healthy fish populations ideal for beginners.
The park includes RV camping, restrooms, picnic shelters, and a convenience store. Fishing is shore-based only. A California fishing license is required for anglers 16 and older, and a park entry fee applies. With easy access, seasonal variety, and family-friendly amenities, Rancho Jurupa is one of the Inland Empire’s most reliable fishing parks.
