Anglers have been coming across largemouth and smallmouth bass along the edges of the grass throughout the lake and have been getting bit using various soft plastic baits and some paddle tail style swimbaits as well. Stripers are being marked anywhere up to 75 feet deep throughout the day around Chumash Island and heading towards Yellowbar as well. Trolling around the lake has been most effective for stripers over the past week, using heavy kastmasters or umbrella rigs to work down deeper. Some people have also been having luck from shore throwing out nightcrawler or sardines for stripers and catfish along the rip rap and also along the channel by the entrance booth. A few trout have also been caught in the channel off of powerboat or worms as well but no limits have been reported recently.
