People over the past week have been catching trout along the rip rap in front of the boat shop and along the canal by the entrance booth mainly off powerrbaits and nightcralwers bait and wait still. Reports of trout have also been caught out by Bear Trap and off Spanish Point throughout the day a bit deeper off the same type of baits. Anglers are still coming across stripers by trolling umbrella rigs and lead heads around Chumash Island throughout Yellowbar and Serrano Coves. Sardines have still been working well for both stripers and catfish in coves found around the lake and off the points past the swim beach from the shoreline. A few largemouth and smallmouth bass have also been pulled up from down deep off jigs, drop shots and jerkbaits along steeper drop offs and rocky points around the lake.
