Stripers are starting to boil throughout the marina and around Chumash Island during the morning hours. Stripers have been caught throughout the day along the canal up front by the entrance booth when the water is flowing in off lugworms, nightcrawlers, and cut bait. Bass have also been biting well along the shorelines of the lake on various soft plastic baits, top water lures in the mornings and swimbaits. Catfish have been all over the lake, mainly on any type of bait down deep within coves or along the rip rap in front of the boat shop. The trout bite has slowed down a bit but anglers are still coming across them every once in a while on nightcrawlers or micetails. Bluegill and crappie have also picked up around the lake on meal worms, red worms, nightcrawlers, and little jigs along the grasslines and structures.
