No trout again this past week despite reports of plants by other publications. Largemouth Bass are the species on the chew this past week with numerous reports of 2 to 6 fish bags caught. Most fish in the 1-2 pound range but a couple 5 and 6 pounders reported. Striper action stalled but didn't die. Many anglers scratched up a few schoolies in the 5 pound range with that being the average size over all. One angler scored yet another upper teen double digit striper this week in the Fish Arm. A few call in reports of 10 and 12 pounders caught both in the Fish Arm and inn the Ski Arm. The West Ramp reports fish in the 3 and 5 pound average striper and 1- 1.50 pound Largemouth Bass from the first half hour of opening until around the 10 AM hour. The lagoon has pooped out a few Largemouth in the 4 to 6 pound range this past week as well. Most Largemouth Bass have been taken on smaller plastics with creature baits and minnow immatations being the hot ticket according to sources.

The DFG finally planted the upper main ramp with a very small load of trout and the striper action picked up from past weeks with a few upper ten double digit fish taken in the morning just hours after opening. Smaller schoolie striper were on the chew on a fair cut bait bite along with some plastic and swim bait takers. Weather permitted more fishermen to get out and hunt. Striper action continues to be some what tough for most that are in search of the line siders but this week panned out for numerous anglers throwing top waters, swim baits and even dropper shotting larger plastics in deeper waters.
