Over the past week, stripers have been biting various cut baits and lugworms along the rip rap and the canal along the entrance booth. Despite the tougher bite, some people are still catching stripers by trolling around the lake with umbrella rigs and heavy kastmasters to fish down deeper. Catfish are still biting consistent throughout the coves and the sandy banks around the lake, Chumash Island and Yellowbar have been working well for rental customers using sardines and chicken liver. Bass are still biting deeper on finesse style baits like robo worms, senkos, and jigs along the steep drop offs and rocky points. Nightcrawler are still getting bit thought the day by bass, stripers, and catfish along the steeper walls and coves around the lake.
