Big winds all week kept the fishing at a painfully slow crawl. The few who decided to fight the winds, some were rewarded with some smaller schoolie striper in the 1-3 pound class and some Largemouth Bass there taken int he 1-2 pound range. Trout plant in the lower lake gave fishermen something to play with while the winds pounded the shorelines on the upper lake. A few catfish came in with the biggest tipping 4 pounds. Over the weekend the winds let up and more fish were caught but not in great numbers as weeks past. Still in the smaller class of 3-4 pounds for the Striper on cut bait on the Dam, the West Ramp area and the Shoreline North of the Marina. Largemouth Bass also picked up somewhat this weekend with the average fish in the 2 pound range. Night crawlers and various plastics were reportedly the way to go. Biggest striper landed and reported was an 8 pounder caught with cut bait on the Dam.

The bait bite continued to show signs of activity in the late morning through the early afternoon hours while big baits...... Read More
