The Annual Fishing Derby is rescheduled for April 23rd & 24th. As of May 2nd the lake capacity was 59%

We are almost in the spawn season for bass! With the recent warming trend we have been experiencing, the water temperatures have risen to the 60 degree mark. This means bass start to push way back into shallow flats and look for spawning grounds. Bass during this time love to feed up in preparation for the stressful spawn. You will ant to use faster moving baits such as crank baits, swim-jigs, jerk baits, and topwater (early morning).

Senkos also play a big role in the spring/spawn here at the lake. Utilizing the Texas rig and or wacky rig for senkos will increase your number game substantially. If targeting bigger females, you will want to use bigger baits such as jigs, swimbaits, and glide baits.

The Crappie bite has slowed down during the bass spawn.

Also we planted 4,000 pound of trout on the 15th of April, if targeting them, trolling is consisted the best way.
