Castaic Lake held near 27 percent of capacity, and water temperatures remained in the mid-to-low seventies. Anglers reported a good bite using finesse techniques and reaction baits. Drop shot, Carolina rigs, and Senkos have been working in 5 to 30 feet of water along bluff walls and main lake points. Bass have also been falling for jerkbaits and crankbaits in the mudlines after the wind comes up. The striper bite slowed a bit, but anglers reported scoring bites while trolling umbrella rigs and flies in the ski arm. Catfish have been eating cut sardines, dip bait, and chicken liver in deeper coves.
