We once again received a sizable trout stocking on 12/10 on the main launch ramp. It was around 1,800 lbs. of decent sized stockers. Rainbow trout are mainly biting on mice tails, spoons or spinners and dough powerbait. The guys chuckling big swimbaits have been able to land a few bigger sized stripers as well. Huddlestons, punchers and glide baits have been getting most of the attention. With consistent plants the trout bite has really kicked into gear from shoreline.

The largemouth and smallmouth bite is still going steady, you must take time to locate them schooled up and you can get on some quality fish. A fish finder has been helping lately target those deeper schools. Drop shots and Carolina rigged plastics seem to be working best, along with a few small swimbaits dragged along the bottom.

Stripers have been biting cut bait off the bottom around 40-60 feet of water. There have been a lot of small stripers caught but bigger ones are appearing more often. Special jigging spoons and ice jigs have also been landing some better quality stripers.

Catfish have slowed down but still are biting a garlic night crawler or chicken liver.

The bluegill and crappie are hard to locate this time fo year, and most of these species have been biting at the lower lagoon over rock piles and structure.
