Our last trout stocking was just recently on 01/05/2022. We had 1,400 lbs. planted at the main launch ramp. The brown debris has started to slowly creep back into the marina but only has taken over half so far. The entire dam is covered with it for its entire stretch. All it takes is another bad wind into the marina and it will all be back.

Trout fishing has been decent the past few days, and anglers are having luck with Power-bait, Trout mini jigs, and spoons. Most fish have been caught around the main launch ramp.

The largemouth and smallmouth bite remains tough but has improved slightly the past few days, with most fish coming off a nightcrawler or plastic worm. Ned rigs, Carolina-rigs, and neko rigs have been working best for finesse fishing. You can also manage a few on a deep diving crank or jig early morning, or even a small paddle tail swimbait.

The stripers are biting in good numbers with a lot of small ones in the mix. Every now and then a better one will bite though. Soaking sardines, anchovies, and lug worms have been working best around 60-80 feet of water. Even the shore has been producing limits for a lot of anglers. The trout swimbaits have also been getting decent action these past couple of months since the stockings started. Huddlestons, punkers/ topwater, and glides have been getting the most action. A lot of these catches have been coming from both boat and shore.

The Catfish bite is still going well, mainly off anchovies, chicken liver, and mackerel. The Dam has been the best spot for the catfish as of late.

Bluegill and Crappie remains a tough bite, and the lower lagoon has been a better spot to target these species.

The largemouth bite has been decent down at the lagoon, with shad imitation baits and finesse working best. Wind and debris have been factors to launch boats recently.

Rainbow trout are mainly biting on mice tails, spoons or spinners and dough powerbait. The guys chuckling big swimbaits have been able to land a few bigger sized stripers as well. Huddlestons, punchers and glide baits have been getting most of the attention. With consistent plants the trout bite has really kicked into gear from shoreline. The...... Read More
