We just recently had a stocking on 3/30/22 on the main launch ramp. It was approximately 1,400 lbs. of quality rainbows. Powerbait, inline spinners, kastmasters and trout mini jigs haev all been working. It has slowed down since it’s been more than a week since the plant, but you can still manage to catch some holdovers.

The stripers bite has been where its at. Most fish have been caught off the bottom with sardines, anchovies, lug worms, and night crawlers. Trolling has been another method of hooking into some decent sized striper, usually with an umbrella rig, flies on lead core and spoons. Big trout swimbaits have also been seeing some good action as of late. Most fish have been coming from deeper waters off the cut bait, but shoreline anglers have also been able to stick a few in around 30-60 feet of water.

The largemouth and smallmouth bite still is a little slow but has picked up this past week, a night crawler or finesse plastic has been working for most anglers. Robo worms in oxblood and Aarons magic have been working best. Some reaction baits have also been seeing some action.
We are getting ever closer to spawn. The catfish are still biting in good numbers, mainly off any type of cut bait or worms. The crappie and bluegill have slowly picked up and been making more of an appearance. The lower lagoon has been a better area for these species.

So far so good this week, and the only thing to watch out for lately is the high winds. Trout fishing has slowed down the past few days, and anglers are...... Read More
