Trout fishing has slowed down the past couple weeks since we have not yet received another stocking. Most trout, are caught off power-bait and nightcrawlers.

The striper bite has slowed down a little. Most fish have been caught off the bottom with sardines, anchovies, lug worms, and night crawlers. Most catches have been in about 30 feet of water. Some anglers have been managing a good sized one in the mix of smaller fish. Trolling has been another method of hooking into some decent sized striper, usually with an umbrella rig, flies on lead-core, and spoons. Big trout swimbaits have also been seeing some good action as of late.

The largemouth and smallmouth bite has picked up this past week. A night crawler or finesse plastic has been working for most anglers. Robo worms in oxblood and Aaron’s magic have been working best. Some reaction baits have also been seeing some action. Green pumpkin is also a go to color. We are getting ever closer to the spawn and bass have been prowling the shallows a lot more lately.

The catfish are still biting in good numbers, mainly off any type of cut bait or worm.

The crappie and bluegill have slowly picked up and been making more of an appearance.

The lower Lagoon has been a better area for these species off wax worms and meal worms.
