Lake Nacimiento dropped to 16 percent of capacity, and fishing has been decent. The holiday week limited fishing activity, but anglers who made it to the lake reported fooling spotted bass by dragging Carolina rigged curly tail worms in deeper water. Darter head grubs and Ned rigs also worked for bites. White bass went for spoons and in-line white spinners both cast and trolled. Catfish anglers did well with cut mackerel, chicken liver, and dip bait. Red ear and crappie ate worms and minijigs near structure.
